You could say…

…it was a mixed bag kind of weekend around here. There was a  little fun and a little work, and it was beautiful outside – not a cloud in the sky, low humidity and temps in the seventies. That’s what you call perfect deck staining weather. I can not tell you how hard it is to get two days without rain when we try to seal the deck. The secret is to do it in the fall instead of spring.

H was so inspired after he finished the deck that he went around the entire porch – sealed the whole thing. The part that was under cover wasn’t quite as bad as the deck. It only needed one coat. He didn’t even bother to strip it… good enough for government work.

Ready to start…

The fun part of the weekend included having friends over for dinner and making a scarecrow. He’ll sit on the bench on our front porch until Thanksgiving. My best friend’s grandson has been coming over to help since he was a toddler. H buys a bale of straw, and the fun commences.

I’ll be his friend, cuz he ain’t got nobody. Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!100_9801

A good looking guy. I bet I could find at least a dozen women who would date him!100_9856_2
