Not Enough Time

by Bella Rum

I’m in the mood to write but I have a doctor’s appointment this morning.

I didn’t feel well on Sunday afternoon. I laid down to relax. My heart started fluttering. I calmly waited for it to stop because it usually goes back to normal after a second or two. It didn’t this time. I got that sick feeling, the one we get when we know something evil this way comes.

We have a blood pressure cuff that indicates abnormal heart rhythm.  I eventually used it, and it told me what I already suspected. I believe I’m back in A-Fib. I could be wrong and I hope I am. It’s only been nine months since the cardioversion. I was hoping this reprieve would last longer.

Wish for me and my blood pressure cuff to be wrong. An EKG will tell for sure.
