Video: How women (for the most part) are Photoshopped in magazines.
I’m glad there are finally people stepping up and exposing this wide-spread practice that is ruining so many teenager’s self images.
It’s like food photography. What looks so yummy in those ads is pretty pedestrian when it gets ordered – especially in the restaurants.
I had a really interesting experience the other day. I’ve started following a fellow who blogs about food, nutrition, and his family’s organic farm. His last post was about the Olympics and what the Greek athletes’ diet was like.
He and his wife traveled to Greece to the ancient Olympic stadium a couple of years ago, and he included many photos of both of them at the site. His wife is drop-dead gorgeous. I don’t mean pretty – I mean gorgeous. And skinny. And as fit as an athlete. I found myself clicking out of the post without finishing it, let alone leaving a comment. It took quite a while for me to realize that I left because I felt inferior – old, fat and out of shape.
My, my. It’s not just the sixteen year olds who can fall victim, I guess.
